LA Times: $60M for Manny?

The Los Angeles Times' Dylan Hernandez is reporting that the Dodgers' offer to Manny Ramirez could reach $60 million.

This is worth a look just to see the art they used with the story.

This offer is the type of offer a team makes when they do not want it to be taken. As a condition of the trade from the Red Sox, Boras and Manny insisted the teams waive the two $20 million option years in the original contract. Now the Dodgers are essentially offering to pick up those two years and add a 3d option year. What does Manny gain? Even if he can't get better than $20 million a year, he's going to try the market.
