Cliff Lee Learns This Year Aint Last Year

Last year Cliff Lee astounded pretty much everyone by turning in a dominant Cy Young season where he went 22-3 with a 2.54 ERA.

In five innings of work today in Texas, Lee gave up seven runs (all earned) on 10 hits as the Cleveland Indians trail the Rangers 7-0.

To put this in perspective with what he did last year, Lee didn't give up this many total runs until mid-May and didn't have an outing this short until June.

In all fairness, almost no one expected Lee (4.15 career ERA) to duplicate last season and he had to open against a Rangers lineup that can mash, especially at home in Arlington.

Still, though, not a good way for the reigning Cy Young winner to open for an Indians team looking to compete in a wide open AL Central.

Many keepers from my AL fantasy team in this game: nelson cruz, marlon byrd, and victor martinez. Also have Andrus on reserve this week, and released Blalock (oops).
