Three Up, Three Down

Obama: White House, Nats playing coy over whether POTUS will throw out first pitch at today's opener. Frankly, with J. Moyer starting for Phillies, Nats don't need to see another soft-tossing, 40-something lefty.

S. Hill: Ex-Nats pitcher, jettisoned during spring training, wins in Padres debut. If you're scoring at home, that's Hill, 1; entire Nats rotation, 0.

M. Acta: Nats manager starts blog on MASN website. Must be laying groundwork for second career in case team doesn't pick up his 2010 option.

Statues: Artsy replicas of DC icons F. Howard, J. Gibson and W. Johnson panned by fans, critics. Team officials more concerned with whether they can be counted in attendance figures.

Kasten: Nats prez angers fan base by inviting Phillies fans to DC home opener. Worst part: He vowed to replace statues with ones of M. Schmidt, S. Carlton and R. Balboa.

ARod: Yanks star, rehabbing hip injury, set to begin "baseball activities" today. Coincidentally, Yuri Sucart set to begin "steroids procurement" activities at same time.
