MLB TV's Test of David Wright's Helmet
For those of you who may be worried about how the Mets are going to protect David Wright's cabeza in his return from a recent concussion, don't fret, MLB TV has you covered. On Tuesday night, the same evening that Wright made his comeback, Billy Ripken and Victor Rojas, two of the network's nightly anchors, gave Wright's "enhanced" helmet a thorough testing. And by thorough we mean that Rojas basically beat up Ripken while he was wearing the helmet for a few minutes.
With the test in mind, we bring you this screen grab photo via Bugs & Cranks.
For what the exhibition lacked in scientific method, it made up for a bit in unintentional comedy. Then again, apparently that comedic value is greatly enhanced if you're a Phillies fan, according to this brilliantly laconic entry from The Fightins.
Thoughts? Which MLB player would look the funniest in that helmet? It would have to be David Eckstein, right?
