New animated video takes on Wall Street Journal, New York Times
We've had it wrong all this time: The media war waging between the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal will not be won by the quality of the respective papers' journalism. It will be won by the respective dancing skills of Arthur Sulzberger Jr. and Rupert Murdoch.
Thankfully, Next Media Animation set us straight with another bizarrely genius CGI fictional news short. Next Media Animation, a Taiwanese media company that uses computer generated 3-D images, broke out with its first viral video in the United States months ago when it fictionally re-created golfer Tiger Woods' car crash. The company has also created animated video of JetBlue flight attendant Steven Slater's escape down the emergency exit last month and actress Lindsay Lohan's visit to the big house.
In the newest video, a shark-finned Murdoch takes on the financially strapped Times in a cannon battle on Fifth Avenue. Unwanted journalists at the Gray Lady fall down trapdoors at the touch of a button. And online journalists just copy and paste the news. (Now that's just plain rude....)
