'Mad Men' fans, you're creative. Watch 'Dancing with the Stars'? You'll like fiber.

Does watching "Mad Men" make you want to buy a Cadillac?

You are what you watch. At least, according to Mindset Media. The marketing research group has released a new study analyzing the personalities of TV viewers based on the shows they watch.

Mindset found that liberals and conservatives watch different programs. Risk-takers have different TV tastes than the more conventional. Creative folk and non-creative folk are drawn to different shows. The taste preferences then suggest what brands consumers should market during which shows. Advertising Age wrote up some of the study's results Monday.

While some commenters said it reads a bit horoscope-y, we here at BlogPost love to try to pigeonhole the personalities of large groups of people based on one shared taste.

Here are some standouts:

"Mad Men"
According to Advertising Age, "creative people are 41% more likely to watch 'Mad Men' than less creative people." They define "creative" as being "emotionally sensitive and intellectually curious types who tend to more often be dreamers rather than realists." The study also found that liberals are 124% more likely to watch "Mad Men" than other people. They prefer brands like Blue Moon and American Express to Cadillac or Campbell's Soup.

"Dancing with the Stars"
The study found that "DWTS" fans are "traditionalists" who prefer stability, respect authority and like brands like Fiber One and Buick Regal. And, I'm guessing, lots of sequins.

"The Office"
Fans of "The Office" "are alpha dogs [who] believe they are extraordinary and happily brag about their accomplishments. They also prefer to be in charge, directing others rather than being directed," AdAge reports. They like BMWs.

"Real Housewives of Orange County"
The Mindset Media study found that Housewives fans are "pugnacious" "antagonists" who like Botox. (Life imitating art?)

The Post's Hank Stuever took a crack at this type of pop psychology, albeit the other way around. He matched people to TV shows based on their personalities.

For "The Giggler," shows like "Raising Hope" and "Mike and Molly" are perfect fits.

"The Friendly Elitist" might be willing to switch away from Showtime and HBO long enough to watch "The Walking Dead" on AMC, the same network that airs "Mad Men."

Stuever also had recommendations for the "Netflix Nancy" types, people who wish "TV could be more like the movies." Unfortunately, his two choices for that sect, "Lone Star" and "My Generation," have both been canceled. (Maybe you're better of with Netflix, Nancy.)

Personally, I'm not sure what my TV tastes say about me. Does liking "Modern Family," "The George Lopez Show" (reruns), "Jersey Shore" and "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" make me an eclectic with a strong love of family as well as a fan of petty bickering between "frenemies"? Or just mean I'm a person with too much time on his hands?
