Robert Gibbs: "I'm not a..." press secretary soon

In just over an hour, Robert Gibbs will bid adieu to the podium. One of President Obama's longest-serving aides will be leaving the White House as the press secretary.

Gibbs has served as both the wall between Obama and the press, and as a close adviser to the president. He is expected to continue to serve as an adviser, but it is still unclear what his role will likely entail.

During his tenure as press secretary, Gibbs became well known for one phrase "I'm not a..." He used it to deflect journalists' questions by ceding authority. Politico put together a fabulous montage of some of his best "I'm not a..." moments. There's nothing quite like a video montage to tease our leaders about their errant turns of phrase.

Among some of the things, Robert Gibbs is not: "I'm not a Chinese historian... I'm not a scientist... I'm not a spokesperson for BP... I'm not a legal scholar... I'm not a vote counter... I'm not the Speaker of the House... I'm not young and hip."

Friday night he'll be able to say, "I'm not a press secretary."

What else is Robert Gibbs not? Let us know by using the hashtag #imnota or by leaving a note in the comments.

I BID A FOND ADIEU TO "MRS. DOUBTFIRE", THJE MOST INEPT PRESS SECRETARY IN THE HISTORY OF THE USA. EVEN AMONG THE AMATEURS OF THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION HE STOOD HEAD AND SHOULDERS BENEATH ALL THE REST. HIS ARROGANCE WAS ONLY EXCEEDED BY HIS INCOMPETENCE. IF HE HAD BEEN A QUARTERBACK ON A NFL TEAM, HE WOULD PROUDLY HAVE DISPLAYED HIS I.Q. ON HIS BACK.

BUT EVEN GIFTS THAT KEEP GIVING AND GIVING MUST COME TO AN END. LUCKILY FOR HIS REPLACEMENT, THE SIZE OF THE SHOE TO FILL IS A 3 1/2 A.

AS I WRITE THIS I AM LOOKING AT THE WHITE HOUSE PRESS CONFERENCE AND PRESIDENT OBAMA IS SPEAKING. THE PRES. HAS A HUGE SMIRK ON HIS FACE AS HE MENTIONS THE DEPARTURE OF ROBERT "MRS. DOUBTFIRE" GIBBS. I CAN ALMOST READ HIS LIPS AS HE APPEARS TO SAY "THANK GOD FOR SMALL FAVORS."

"I am not a document veracity person"??? Good grief. I think my favorite moment in this video montage is when he stated "I'm not you and hip" and one of the reporters responded, "Clearly."
