Robert Gibbs: "I'm not a..." press secretary soon
In just over an hour, Robert Gibbs will bid adieu to the podium. One of President Obama's longest-serving aides will be leaving the White House as the press secretary.
Gibbs has served as both the wall between Obama and the press, and as a close adviser to the president. He is expected to continue to serve as an adviser, but it is still unclear what his role will likely entail.
During his tenure as press secretary, Gibbs became well known for one phrase "I'm not a..." He used it to deflect journalists' questions by ceding authority. Politico put together a fabulous montage of some of his best "I'm not a..." moments. There's nothing quite like a video montage to tease our leaders about their errant turns of phrase.
Among some of the things, Robert Gibbs is not: "I'm not a Chinese historian... I'm not a scientist... I'm not a spokesperson for BP... I'm not a legal scholar... I'm not a vote counter... I'm not the Speaker of the House... I'm not young and hip."
Friday night he'll be able to say, "I'm not a press secretary."
What else is Robert Gibbs not? Let us know by using the hashtag #imnota or by leaving a note in the comments.
