Scott Walker prank call: The latest in a long line of escapades?
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker may not feel like taking many calls these days after the prank played Tuesday when someone claiming to be conservative fundraiser David Koch got Walker to reveal a bit too much about the current crisis in his state's capitol.
The culprit behind the call? Ian Murphy, 33, of Buffalo, who writes for a site called BuffaloBeast.com. (The aforementioned web site, by the way, has been flickering on and off all day, presumably under the weight of web traffic.)
Pranking those embedded in the political establishment may really be the great equalizer -- anyone can play -- but Walker was not the first to be called out (ahem) by such tomfoolery.
I'm reminded of simpler times, not so long ago:
FAKE SARKOZY: Exactly, we could go try hunting by helicopter like you did. I never did that. Like we say in France, (says long French-sounding phrase).
PALIN: Well, I think we could have a lot of fun together as we're getting work done. We could kill two birds with one stone that way.
Play on, pranksters.
P.S., If you need a refresher on the budget battle Walker is embroiled in with the state's public employees and Senate Democrats, see protest photos, a report on Walker's past stances on unions and other assorted blog posts.
