United seeking enthusiastic self-starter for goalkeeping position
D.C. United is in the market for a goalkeeper. It's not exactly a glamor position; they're looking for someone to fill the void until Bill Hamid or Steve Cronin are healthy enough to start. Whoever gets the gig will probably start a game or two and then battle it out for the backup spot. United won't be keen to invest much in this acquisition; in fact, they're circulating an open application, which I - through the investigative reporting skills for which this blog is renowned - have managed to acquire. You may want to forward this to the goalkeeper on your rec league team - he or she might have a shot at this.

That was excellent, Mr. Maurer.

Hilarious.
I'd recommend the goalie from my co-ed rec team but we need him for the upcoming season and he might be squeamish about killing possums.
