InternsROCK Week means deals galore
As this blog has proven day after day, interns often do not get enough respect. But this week, things might be different.
This is InternsROCK week, an initiative by The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars and MTV U.
No, it doesn't mean that you are exempted from your coffee-fetching duties. But you can eat, drink and hang out for less if you pick up an intern wristband from The Washington Center during business hours.
The list of deals is pretty impressive (and almost makes me wish I was still an intern): Half-price burgers at McFaddens, 33 percent off admission to the Phillips Collection, and 20 percent off at places like Hello Cupcake, Mad Hatter, The Tombs, Town Tavern, Sticky Rice and many others.
Here's what the blog Wonkabout thinks of InternsROCK week:
Seriously, if you're an intern and you don't take advantage of this deal, you deserve every mean/rude/scandalous thing that has ever been said about you. This is an excellent opportunity to experience DC in a way that most young professionals can hardly afford to.
