Need cheap Tuesday night plans?
We are nearing the end of day 2 of the #InternDiet Challenge ... have you had a free meal yet today?
If so, tell me about it on Twitter using the hashtag #interndiet or send an old-school e-mail to johnsonj@washpost.com.
If not, here are some ideas:
Coffee in Rayburn, 4 to 6 p.m.
A Starbucks vice president is hosting a Fair Trade coffee tasting in the Rayburn Foyer from 4 to 6 p.m. (Via Cloture Club calendar)
Acoustic music and free beer, 5 to 6 p.m.
Midtown Loft (1219 Connecticut Ave. NW) serves up free beer until 6 p.m. There's also free foosball and shuffleboard until 8 p.m. Guitarist Doug Segree of Dewey Beach fame will perform acoustic starting at 9 p.m. (Read more in the Going Out Guide.)
(Three more ideas if you click to continue reading ... )
Italian happy hour snacks, 4:30 to 8 p.m.
Every weeknight, Piola in Arlington (1550 Wilson Blvd.) offers up free snacks in the bar during happy hour. (More info in the GOG)
Cary Grant and pizza, 5:30 to 9 p.m.
The Hudson Institute (1015 15th St. NW) hosts a free movie night every Tuesday during summer. They also provide free pizza, popcorn, candy and soft drinks. Tonight the film is "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House," a 1948 film starring Cary Grant. Next week is "About Schmidt." You must RSVP. (Again, found this on the Cloture Club calendar.)
Free ping-pong, cheap tacos
Every Tuesday, Breadsoda in Glover Park (2233 Wisconsin Ave. NW) turns two of its pool tables into ping-pong tables and lets guest play for free. You can also get a platter of tacos for $6. (GOG write-up)
