That intern: The always there intern

Jenna Johnson

Every intern class has so many personalities that they could fill a "Real World" cast. And every class has "That Intern" -- as in, "Don't be that intern." Each day I introduce you to one of those interns.

It doesn't matter when you stop by the office -- before dawn, late at night, random Sunday mornings -- you will always see the always there intern. That intern gets into work earlier than everyone else and stays later than even the cleaning crew. Weekends and holidays, gorgeous Saturday and rainy Monday mornings, that intern is there.

Which makes everyone wonder: What is that intern doing? That intern can't possibly work that many hours (especially since that intern's productivity is about the same as everyone else).

There are lots of theories flying around the water cooler: Maybe that intern doesn't have Internet at home and is free-loading? Maybe that intern is addicted to Pandora? Maybe that intern has the worst roommate ever?

Or, perhaps, maybe that intern never set up summer housing and is actually living at the office.

Want to help me stereotype over-worked, under-appreciated, misunderstood interns? Shoot me an e-mail.
