Boston University quickly revamps its online presence

Boston University is quickly revamping its presence online. It has moved its annual report online, beefed up coverage of itself on BUToday and redone its admissions Web site to better appeal to applicants. A Q&A with Jenny Mackintosh, who manages the university's social media.

GWU fraternities, sorority charged with hazing

George Washington University has formally charged three greek houses with hazing, providing alcohol to minors and underage drinking, according to the GW Hatchet. The charges were outlined in letters sent to the chapters over the weekend, following a several-months-long university investigation. The chapters charged are Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, and Pi Kappa Alpha and Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternities.

U. of Colorado student Nic Ramos pays tuition with duffel bag of cash

Last week University of Colorado sophomore Nic Ramos walked into the bursar's office in Boulder to pay his out-of-state tuition bill for the spring semester. Instead of a checkbook or credit card, he carried a duffel bag -- filled with $14,309.51 in dollar bills, a 50-cent piece and a penny.

Stanford has the most 'klout' on Twitter

Many colleges and universities have created a Twitter feed to share campus news with students, parents, alums, faculty, sports fans, journalists and everyone else. But is it worth the time? And what's the best measure of a Twitter feed's success? Is it number of followers, number of RT's, number of clicks on bit.ly links, number of interactions or something else?
