'Crazy U' delves into admissions process
A few weeks ago I received the book, "Crazy U: One Dad's Crash Course in Getting His Kid into College," and groaned. Great, I thought, another book written by another Baby Boomer for fellow Baby Boomers about what the admissions process means to them (and not, you know, their college-bound children).

Texas group launches scholarship exclusively for white males
The application for a $500 scholarship from the Former Majority Association for Equality looks pretty much like all the others out there. Well, except for this eligibility requirement: "Male - No less than 25% Caucasian."

I know a few couples who have tied the knot earlier than planned, for reasons greater than love alone -- usually, the need for health insurance or visa woes. But here's a reason I had not thought of: Getting hitched to score in-state tuition.
