How to find cheap textbooks online

The first major expense of the second semester is textbooks. The bad news is that they can be expensive and you have to have them. The good news is that you can find them for 40 to 85 percent less than the official price. All you need to do is start exploring various online sites.

'Tis the season for care packages

One of the best parts of the finals season when I was in college was finding a note in my mailbox alerting me that I had received a package. Sure, in this day and age college students love text-messaged photos, e-cards and Facebook messages. But nothing beats old-fashion mail. Especially during finals season.

Turkey Dump 2010: Break up this weekend? You are not alone.

College counselors and student affairs officials usually chuckle as they explain a phenomenon they see year after year: Thanksgiving break ending with broken hearts. "We call that the good old Turkey Drop."

Cook a Thanksgiving feast in your dorm microwave

Thinking about holidays in the dorms made me wonder: Is it even possible to cook an entire traditional Thanksgiving dinner using just a dorm microwave? Is it safe to zap a turkey? I decided to try it for myself Saturday night.
