Fleischmann Recalled
Prospect Tomas Fleischmann was recalled from Hershey this afternoon to replace injured right wing Chris Clark. Fleischmann will join the Caps tomorrow in New Jersey, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the top line alongside Alex Ovechkin and Dainius Zubrus. The 22-year-old Fleischmann has 20 goals and...

Clark Out 7-10 Days
Chris Clark, the Caps' first line right wing and captain, will miss 7-10 days (at least) because of a sprained shoulder. Clark was leveled by San Jose defenseman Doug Murray early in the third period of Wednesday's 3-2 shootout loss and did not return to the game. He also did...

Clark Update
Okay, not much news today. But Chris Clark (upper body injury) was able to make a charity appearance today and will be evaluated by team doctors tomorrow. So I guess it's sort of good news. He is officially listed as day-to-day. I'll have more on Clark's condition tomorrow after practice....

After Tuesday night's effort--a penalty-plagued 5-3 defeat at...

More Rest for Ovechkin
One day after Alex Ovechkin was given the day off from practice, he also was not on the ice for this morning's pregame skate. He came to Bell Centre, but left the building shortly after his teammates went on the ice. Ovechkin's not hurt. He says he's not tired or...

Time to Deal?
With the February 27 trade deadline fast approaching, I sought out General Manager George McPhee between periods last night in Pittsburgh to ask him about his strategy over the coming week. And while he wouldn't reveal much, he did provide a little insight into what might transpire. It doesn't appear...
