Live: NHL All-Star fantasy draft

By Katie Carrera

Follow along with the NHL's All Star fantasy draft and discuss all of the picks here throughout the selection process. Remember, all goaltenders must be selected by the 10th round and all defensemen by the 15th.

Team Lidstrom is led by Detroit's Nicklas Lidstrom and alternate captains Martin St. Louis and Patrick Kane and Team Staal captained by Eric Staal and alternates Mike Green and Ryan Kesler.

Cam Ward.

This is actually fun. I think I'll watch the ASG. It's fun, really.

What was OV slurring? Something about being "stuck in a bar?" oh well why not.

I want to see the first All-Star fight between the Sedins. I don't care if it is faked and staged it will be fun to watch.

OV didn't shake Carey Price's hand. Wonder if OV remembers when Price hit Backstrom with his hockey stick.

I really hate the numbers in the middle of the front of the jersey. It is even worse then the Sabres and Sharks version. I really hope that no team ever starts doing that.

Can OV not put his phone away for this hour? He's reminding me of the grade nine's I teach.

Cool concept, but the TV production was awful...the players clearly could not hear anything once they were selected and on the stage. You would think that they would be given a quick 5 minute overview before the draft started and told that they might be asked to speak on camera. Plus, why is TSN running the show? I know that this is Versus and not NBC, but 'defenceman'? I did not expect the show the NFL puts on for their draft, but this had the look and feel of a program put together by a high school AV class.

OK, just as they are selecting Kessel, I say to mrstominsocal1, "They should give a present to the guy picked last."

Now I'm thinking what a big deal this can become. Kessel donates the car to a Toronto charity and they have Don Cherry auction it off. You get a signed Kessel ASG jersey and dinner with Cherry and maybe some Gretzky signed stuff. That $20K car could fetch $30-40K for some needy group.

cstanton: What about the two chickies handing out the jerseys? I'm sure most of you guys would go for the thin one in red. Fine. I like the legs on the cutie in blue. I was telling mrstominsocal1 this also and she says this one is probably also too thin in person. At least I can discuss this stuff with her w/o being hit. It's because she knows from experience when the dust settles, I'm not going anywhere. OK maybe when the dust is blowing she might not know where I am for a few hours but when it settles I'll be home.

Y'all didn't know I was so romantic, did you?

still think its crappy Carlson isn't there. Glad Green made the team and as an alternate no less. Shoulda been stamkos #1 Ovie #2 or vice versa not no Cam Ward....oh well. Everyone says All-Star game doesn't mean anything so. Let the players have fun!

i dont' watch all star games Tom. So i don't know bout no chicky in red. Last all star game I watched Scott Stevens racked up like 5 hits in it as a Cap and ended up incurring the wrath of the establishment.

all that being said, the chick in red looks like a nice lady.
