Michal Neuvirth to start against Thrashers

During his pre-game comments to the media, Coach Bruce Boudreau said Michal Neuvirth will start against Atlanta tonight at Verizon Center. Neuvirth is healthy after suffering from the flu this past week and Boudreau wanted to "change it up" after Semyon Varlamov played the past two games.

I'll post the lineup after warm up.

I would like Varly to be healthy and showing what he can do but in trying to find a bright side to yet another injury I actually found a way that it could help us. At the end of the year Varly is an RFA. I think it is always good to have two goalies that can back this team and Varly has shown when healthy he can do so. The injuries could help keep his price tag down. If it does go to the whole RFA process I don't see a lot of guys offering him big money, one because of the injuries and two because of the tendency to not go for high priced goalies (at least this year). The injuries could help the Caps when talking to the agent for Varly and could help lower the price. Of course if he is never healthy he isn't worth much anyway.

Well maybe he just stubbed his pinky toe on the way in.

Isn't this supposed to be the part where somebody comes in and says, "I wouldn't worry about Varly & injuries yet. I can remember early in Terry Sawchuk's career ....... (blah blah blah)".
