Big Round of Cuts Coming

When the Sabres come to town tomorrow, they're probably going to face the best Caps roster of the preseason. Based on the players skating now at KCI, the lineup could look something like this:

Forwards:
Ovechkin-Backstrom-Knuble
Bouchard-Morrison-Semin
Bourque-Nylander-Fehr/Andrew Gordon
Joudrey-Beagle-Pinizzotto
Osala-Perreault-Sugden
(Obviously only four lines will suit up)

Defense:
Green, Schultz, Alzner, Carlson, Collins, Sloan

Goalies:
Theodore, Varlamov

The Caps are also going to announce their first big round of cuts any moment. I'm expecting at least one cut that might come as a (minor) surprise to some. Check back in a bit.

I can't wait. I hope it's Schultz out for Alzner or Carlson. Or that Nylander will get paid NHL money to play in Hershey.

Once more we must clearly say Nylander has a NMC so he isn't going to Hershey.
