Capitals assign Todd Ford to Hershey

By Katie Carrera

The Capitals have reassigned goaltender Todd Ford, who served as Michal Neuvirth's backup last night on Long Island, to the Hershey Bears. Hershey has a game this afternoon against Bridgeport.

This may mean that Semyon Varlamov, who is officially listed as day-to-day with an undisclosed injury though it's believed the reason he came off the ice early in New York Saturday morning was a knee problem, will not miss any significant amount of time.

There should be an update on his status when the Capitals are back on the ice for practice Monday morning.

To be honest, I'd rather gets guys like Umberger who "liked" playing against us.

Geez, I had forgotten about my Richard Burton and Godfather skits from last night. Never know what you'll find in the bottom of a bottle of wine.

Please note that I did not rock the white last night but rocked the red.

Sturm's quotes worry me because it seems like the effective players around the league these days enjoy playing the Caps.

Since he's a LW, and we are in dire need of a C, this surely can't be the "big move."

very astute observations Tom.

Any news/rumors? 26 hours and counting. A win last night against Al Montoya shouldn't change anything.

Every team can get better - at least on paper - by adding better players (with better statistics, more hits etc.)
... however to find the right mix for a successful team isn't that easy ...

excellent comment and i agree.

there's still 24 hrs before the trade deadline is toast and some of these so called fans are ready to call it a year.

do your health a favor today. relax and enjoy the fact that the caps won last night and are in the playoff race.

better yet, be thankful we have a hockey team here in washington.

Has anyone heard ANYTHING about what may be coming down the pike here in the next 25 hours and 30 minutes????

(I think there are major moves coming, but that is just a feeling)

Also, what would you say if they did NOTHING more than they already have?
