Caps recall John Carlson (updated)
Rookie John Carlson, who led the United States to a gold medal in the world junior championships earlier this month, has been recalled from Hershey this afternoon. He's on the ice for warmups and could play tonight against the Leafs.
Carlson did not skate this morning at KCI, so it appears he was a late call-up. Brian Pothier did not take the warmup, so Carlson is presumably here to replace him in the lineup.
Update:Team says Brian Pothier is "day to day with an injury". The defenseman recently missed 11 games with broken rib.
