Tonight's lineup: Caps at Hurricanes
Although Michal Neuvirth was the first goaltender off the ice in the morning skate, Semyon Varlamov led the Capitals out on to the ice at the RBC Center and appears set to start. Varlamov's last appearance came on Dec. 15 in a 2-1 overtime loss to the Anaheim Ducks. In four career games against the Hurricanes, Varlamov is 2-0 with a 2.38 goals-against average and .917 save percentage.
Per the Caps' senior writer, Mike Vogel, here is what the lineup should look like:
Forwards

Chimera-Johansson-A.Gordon
Hendricks-Steckel-Beagle
Defense
Hannan-Green
Alzner-Carlson

I wonder what the nature of Poti's injury is. It looked like a high stick, but it must have done some damage to keep him out 2 days later

Next time the Caps play the Canes, they should dress King. I would have him run Skinner, their young former figure skater. Problem solved.
