Cooke Joins Caps

Left wing Matt Cooke arrived in Newark last night and joined his new teammates for the morning skate here at Prudential Center. But he's not playing tonight.

Coach Bruce Boudreau said Cooke hasn't skated in a few days, and he wants him to be completely comfortable with the Caps' system before making his debut. That should come tomorrow night against Toronto.

Quintin Laing, John Erskine and Brent Johnson will be the scratches tonight, while Cristobal Huet is expected to oppose Martin Brodeur in net. The lines and pairings are the same as yesterday.

I'll have more this afternoon. Also, don't forget to stop by my weekly online chat at 2 p.m.
