Fan Photos Reminder

Since we put this up late yesterday, here's a reminder:
you can submit fan photos from the games here
(the same link will take you to the photos already submitted). The first one submitted was great -- let's see some more!

How many Flyers fans were there?

Posted by: uncatim | April 12, 2008 11:10 AM | Report abuse

There were probably 4 or 5 in our general area around Section 423. For the most part, not many seemed to be around. I think security did a great job of keeping an eye of the few that were there.

@ uncatim --- Not many. I'd realistically say less then a thousand and that's being generous. A few patches were loud but for the most part it was ALL red.

Boo,

The one Flyer fan near us last night didn't act like an a-hole at all and didn't get abuse thrown his way.

One big letter? The one I pick will be out of stock....

Lee,

But what about 52 or 42 or 24...

Steve:
I said any letter other than R ... if that won't work, then pick a symbol (like Prince did). ;-) Oh, and I was not only talking about the Flyers fans in the stands, I was talking about the ones who were just walking before/during/after the game (how dare they walk!!). Ya know what I mean?!?

I am ready for Sunday. It's nice to be able to relax a bit today. The build up yesterday was brutal.

I was at the Nats game last night, and the whole left field bar was going nuts watching the Caps game.

Thanks. Flyers fans (& Penguins punks) really can send my blood pressure soaring, even when I'm not at the game.

@uncatim,

About your blood pressure? Don't forget the Philly sports writers.

"Let the record show that the Verizon Center fans - who discovered ice hockey about the time Ovechkin started putting up crazy numbers - cheered as Thoresen writhed in pain on the ice. No doubt the national media will be as harsh on the Washington fans as they would be if the same thing had happened in Philadelphia."

BernieWolfeFan -- I learned to hate Flyers fans a long time ago at the Capital Center. I don't know that I've seen more blood on the ice than I saw at a Caps/Flyers rookie scrimmage in the early 80s. Most of those guys never made the team yet they instinctively despised one another. Now I guess I need to start loathing Philly sports writers.

Steve, I told you 42 at the start!

Posted by: Leeguru | April 12, 2008 12:29 PM | Report abuse

OK, Lee, I have to ask - why 42?!?

Posted by: Boo! | April 12, 2008 12:33 PM | Report abuse

Love that Sammi, and I believe he will be here a while.

Posted by: Leeguru | April 12, 2008 12:34 PM | Report abuse

Lee:
Is he your favorite? There are not any other numbers that you would rather wear (or that you would rather see Steve wear ;-))?

Posted by: Boo! | April 12, 2008 12:38 PM | Report abuse

Very few Flyers fans - far fewer than for regular season games. There were 2 in our section (412) and they brought merciless taunting on themselves (but nothing violent or anything). There were a few others sprinkled around the rink, but for the most part, we *finally* packed our own house - that was wonderful.

I ran into a guy in the food line - wearing red - who told me he was a Pens fan. What the hell are you doing here?!? I asked. "I hate the Flyers." "Well, at least we can both agree on that."

i laughed at the 2 guys in rangers jerseys at the game last night. The rangers were playing at the same time, but they chose to watch the caps game instead of catching the rangers on tv. I cant print the word that comes to mind!

Has anyone seen a picture of Mike Green's first goal, ala Bobby Orr? I have been looking for a still shot everywhere and can't find it. There has to be one, somewhere? WHAT A GAME!

Why 42? It is the answer to life, the universe, and everything!
