Mike Green Hits No. 30

Mike Green scored twice in the third period to reach 30 goals on the season, becoming just the eighth defenseman in NHL history to reach that mark.

Both of Green's goals came on the power play -- one to tie, and one to give Washington a 4-3 lead 12:18 into the third period.

Tarik will have more on the impressive feat after the game.

Also if there is one thing I love about the prettiness of puck handling, it has to be those clean rip offs.

Backstrom and Flash had beauties this game.

And Buffalo loses in overtime; they trail Montreal and the final playoff spot by 5 points in the standings with 6 games to play, including the one against us on Friday.

Absent a miracle we're up 3 on the Devs, with a magic No. of 1 for the div.

I'd be glad to see the Sabres fade out. They give us trouble.

Darn. I missed most of the third period, all the goals.

CAPS and OV have 101 points.

...and another new post, this time to celebrate the 5-3 victory.

Green is the man, especially his second tonight was a vital goal and "one man" effort.
