Green Hurts Shoulder

Mike Green was wearing a shoulder sling on his right arm after the game. But he said he's hopeful the injury is not too serious. When I asked him if it was sprained or separated, the defenseman said he won't know until the morning.

"It was a good hit," Green said of Chris Pronger's shoulder check that sent him hurtling into the end boards. "I seen him coming, but he's so big I couldn't brace myself. We'll see how it feels tomorrow morning. I'm just trying to keep it still right now. Obviously, it's not too bad, so we'll see how tonight goes."

The injury ruined a night Green had been looking forward to for some time. He grew up a big Scott Niedermayer fan and even asked for his stick after the game.

"I was excited to play to tonight," Green said. "As a young guy, I wanted to show him what I was all about. I was fortunate to get a little tast there on the power play in the first period."

"I got a stick from him," Green said. "It was awesome."

Ohhh boy. DX That's not cool. Here's seriously hoping that both Fedorov and Mo are ready to roll tomorrow night.

bummer that greenie's night was ruined like that. He was having a good game up until then. I hope its just a precaution and he's back soon.

Would have wanted to see more @ss kicking by the caps. Specifically on montador for spearing ovie and perry for bloodying up Gordo's face. Nice to put up a 6 spot but unfortunately it takes a little more toughness to win a cup and go far in the playoffs.

Yeah; definitely needed to see Montador's butt in a sling for that spear. At least Perry got two minutes; should'a been four.

Suckfest on Greenie being hurt. We do NOT need another defenseman down for tonight's game. :-( It looked like he was shaking off his head, too, after that hit; hopefully they made sure he wasn't concussed... that was a nasty hit!

I'm still getting worried about the soft goals and the lack of defense that the guys continue to show night after night. No team goes for a long run in the spring with swiss cheese on the blue line and in the net. Theo's GAA has to be one of the worst and the boys inability to put their collective foot over the throat of the Ducks is troubling.

Put a body on some one and move them out of the crease for cryin' out loud!
