Green Injured? (Updated)
Mike Green absorbed a hard, high hit from towering Ducks defenseman Chris Pronger late in the first period and missed his final few shifts while being tended to in the dressing room. Green lost his balance as Pronger checked him behind the goal and appeared to hit his right shoulder and head on the end boards.
I'm waiting on a update from the Caps.
Update:Green will not return. That's all the team will say at this point. I hope to have more on his status after the game.

It's only fair that Green's out, the guy's a turnover machine who doesn't play defense.

Parros looks like a cast-off of that '70s swinger show that failed on CBS. He probably has a big collared, multi-colored, polyester shirt, searsucker pants, and platform shoes in his locker for after the game.

Green hurt?
We don't need him. He sucks 90% of the time. He is such a liability on the ice. I can't believe we signed him to a big contract. So what if there are only 3 or 4 defensemen that can do what he does on the ice, we can trade him and get Bouwmeester on the off season.

NHL.com has Ovie as #1 star of night.
Too bad Clarkie did not score. Looked like the guys were really trying to feed him one. He really dodged a bullet there at the end. As often as the refs were blowing their whistles I am surprised they let his trip go.

I thought Kozlov had a solid game. Only one assist on the score sheet ... but he made some nice passes and did a good job forechecking and hustling.
Posted by: Cerealman | November 20, 2008 1:04 AM | Report abuse
The refs missed a number of calls. Anyone who says they were calling everything doesn't have eyes. That spear to the produce section (god I love that phrase), the trip on Clarkie? The refs called everything they saw, but missed a lot of stuff.
Want updates on Greenie before bed ....
Posted by: kittypawz | November 20, 2008 1:06 AM | Report abuse
Yeah, also waiting for updates. Comments. Anything. Real nice of Comcast to go right to Redskin's Nation after the game. Thanks for catering to the viewing audience there guys.
I really hope Green's injury is not serious.
Posted by: Kim-3 | November 20, 2008 1:14 AM | Report abuse
Wow,
So much negativity on this board its amazing. How can you even say Green is a liability. Sure he takes risks, but he is Game Changer and those are hard to find. He pretty much made his statement on this game in first 5 minutes. Since Gonchar when have we had this type of offensive force on D. I guarantee these are the same people that tried to RUN Semin out of town last year. Enjoy what you are seeing. Caps are a League attraction have some of the top young talent in the league and are set up for years to come.
Posted by: lightshow | November 20, 2008 1:44 AM | Report abuse
Green is a weak link on our defense. We won't miss him defensively and his 18 million turnovers a game. He turns the puck over from his own end boards all the way thru the neutral zone.
I hope Mo can go. It will give us a stronger defensive lineup and we probably won't win 6-4 but rather 4-2 which is preferable anyway. Bad defensive teams don't go far in this league.
Posted by: cstanton1 | November 20, 2008 1:49 AM | Report abuse
Poti and Flash had strong games while Schultz was on ice for 3 goals against and at least 2 of them were his fault. The first goal was Gordon and Green's fault. Gordon lost the puck and Green was caught flat footed.
Posted by: cstanton1 | November 20, 2008 2:02 AM | Report abuse
sounded like anaheim fans chanted "ref you suck" after too many men penalty. Um, that's not borderline or debatable. Watch your TiVo, there were six guys in the offensive zone. It's your team that can't count, not the refs.
Posted by: christiansonm | November 20, 2008 3:41 AM | Report abuse
I personally do not see Greenie as a liability, and a lot of the folks who have said he is have also said "JOKING!" in a later post.
At least it was a clean hit that took him down, though. Pronger is HUGE!
Hopefully it won't be serious. Off to work now...
