Green not skating (updated)

Mike Green is not skating with the team this morning after suffering a contusion near his right kneelast night. The injury is not believed to be serious and he might skate on his own after practice.

The injury, however, might be the least of his worries at the moment. He had a disciplinary hearing with NHL VP Mike Murphy at 10:30 this morning to discuss his elbow to the head of Florida's Michael Frolik last night. Green received two minutes for the elbow; Frolik was shaken up but not injured.

No word on whether Green will be receive any supplementary discipline. Stay tuned.

Update: Matt Bradley also is not practicing. I'll get an update after practice. I do recall Semin skating in his place on the fourth line last night, though.

Wow...First to post! I saw the hit from Green. I thought it was a good penalty call, but I don't think it was premeditated. Kulikov appeared to try to duck him about the same time Green was approaching him for the hit. I just hope Green is ok in time for Pittsburgh Super Bowl Sunday.

It might be in the best interest to give him a couple games off to R&R. We are in a nice position to be able to play a with all of our great call-ups/fill Ins.

The game agaisnt Tampa has been marked on my calender for awhile. I think the game will be good, hard, hitting and maybe "chippy". Tampa is playing pretty good and they gave us our last loss.

@ gcongrads. Yes this is the Chipotle at Verizon Center at gallery place. I was at the game against the Leafs two weeks ago and it was there. Last night, it was gone. I guess you're right. But still very strange, considering it was probably Gallery Place's best restaurant in business next to McDonalds.
