Green Not Skating

I haven't confirmed any of this with Coach Bruce Boudreau yet, but based on the morning skate, which is just underway at HP Pavilion, it looks like defenseman Mike Green (bruised shoulder) and winger Alexander Semin (upper back) will not be available tonight as the Caps attempt to end a 10-game losing streak against the Sharks.

Sergei Fedorov, meantime, looks like he might be ready to go. Green is not skating, but Semin and Fedorov are on the ice. And, yes, despite rampant speculation, Michael Nylander is still a member of the Caps.

The lines look like this:

The 'D' pairings are the same as Thursday in L.A.

Assuming Fedorov is a go, it looks as though Eric Fehr will be the scratch and Brent Johnson will get the start.

I'll confirm all of this in a moment. So check back in a bit.

All the talk about paying portions of Nyles' salary is moot -- the new CBA doesn't allow for that. If we get Barker in a deal, it will be an absolute steal. That said, I'm not sure I see that happening. All we can do is wait and see.

I guess BB knows something I don't, cause I don't see why scratching Fehr instead of Clark.

I also think fehr should be in the second line right wing spot. However, they aren't going to scratch clark even if his play has been terrible. It just isn't going to happen so soon. Maybe in march when he hasn't improved and we are coming down the home stretch and need (or want) as many points as possible.

Fehr needs to play, but there's just not much choice of who to scratch for him to get in. Basically one of steckel or gordon.

Probably because he's the captain, mauree, and for no other reason.

I could wish for Green and Semin, but at least we get Fedorov, hopefully.

Flash/Nyls/Bradley? Now that's an interesting combo. Have we done a Nyls/Bradley combo yet this season?

malyk: Is scratching Bradley out of the question? That would give us Flash/Nyls/Fehr. *shrug* Just a thought.

Luongo got hurt in the Pens game. He couldnt put any pressure on his left leg as he was helped off the ice. Not sure how serious it is but that could be a team looking for a goalie now.

Hey large23220,

That club was "The Bank" - it was an actual bank long before it became a club. I went there once - I still remember the gorgeous latinas dancing there.

(just wanted to answer your question)

Now back to hockey!

The Bank brings back memories. It was "The 5th Column" before that. Great club.

Is there a reason Clark is being rewarded a spot on the 2nd line?
