Injury Update

Brent Johnson, Tom Poti and Mike Green are all on the ice and participating fully. All three look good, but I won't know their status until after the morning skate. I can tell you this: Sean Collins is still here. So that likely means the coaching staff has some reservations about Poti and/or Green.

Sergei Fedorov, meantime, went out this morning, but he also came off after only a few minutes. He didn't look very comfortable in the few minutes he was out there.

I'll have a more detailed update in an hour or so.

Sounds like Feds needs to take the weekend off and come try come back vs the Islanders or Blues...

Stupid ankles.

Agreed. He just needs to take it easy for a while.

Also, damn you for new thread. So, repost.

@SA-Town: Sure, why not. I'll give it a go. If it works, the effect will be creepy as hell. No guarantees, but I'd like to hear it too.

I want to try and start it after the Star-Spangled Banner, when the lights come up before the puck drops. I'll be there a little early tonight and will teach the tune if anyone wants to go in with me on this.

Tarik,

does that mean that we sent Alzner or Sloan down to hershey if collins is still up?

"So that likely means the coaching staff has some reservations about Poti and/or Green."

Or they may hold one of them back for tomorrow at Montreal maybe.

5pm is the daily deadline for assignment of players. They still have time to move people around.

I was hoping against all hope that because they let Feds skate yesterday that he was just about 100% and ready to come back. Stick the man in a hard cast and send him home for 2 weeks. Let him come back after the new year and start rehabbing and rebuilding muscle then get back on. The more "setbacks" he has, the worse it will be in the long-run.

That's what they may want to do with Green. Rather than play him back to back nights, let him rest another day and start him in Montreal. Then, he'd have a couple more days off until the next game.

Why is Poti questionable?

Posted by: capsfansince74 | December 12, 2008 10:51 AM | Report abuse

Poti would be questionable if he had flare ups and discomfort after the last game.

They could also play Sloan one night, and Collins the other night.

Its all just speculation at this point.

D'OH...new thread...

REPOST:

@ Jschon: "Auld Lang Syne"...I like it.

@Kittypawz: If you can get meaningful numbers of fans to coherently sing ANYTHING for the first time, then you deserve free season tix for life...for ANY seats you want!

On tonight's opponent...I do feel bad for the Sens, and want to see them to doing better than they are, but as BB says "just not against us".

I feel the same way about TOR, & CGY...usually any team from Canada (even though I'm not Canadian). Unfortunately, I'm not liking MTL much lately because of all that Centenary hoopla. Is it just me or have Habs fans become like Yankees fans: "Our team has a divine right to win; for it to be otherwise would be an affront to God"

Anyway, it is my belief that a true hockey fan understands the difference between a Rival and an Enemy:

A Rival is someone you want very much to beat, but there is also respect.

I would include BUF, BOS, OTT, NYR and PHI in this category, even though the latter two team's fans are often obnoxious.

An Enemy, on the other hand, is someone you just want to smash, crush, disgrace humiliate & OBLITERATE...because you "hate 'em, Hate 'em, HATE 'EM!"

As far as I am concerned, there is only one Enemy...and that Enemy is Pittsburgh!

'nuff said!
