Khabibulin To Start For 'Hawks
Nikolai Khabibulin is expected to start tonight against the Caps instead of former Washington netminder Cristobal Huet, I'm told.
I know, I know, it would have been great to see Huet's reaction as the Caps raised their Southeast Division banner over his head during the pregame ceremony, but Huet started last night at MSG and there's some thought that the Blackhawks are showcasing Khabibulin in an effort to trade him. The veteran goalie is in the final year of a contract that pays him $6.75 million and he recently cleared waivers.
On another subject, Katie is going to post pre-game quotes and quotes from Bruce Boudreau's media session momentarily.

Well, I guess it makes sense since he played last night. Oh, well, let's light up the "Bulin Wall" and enjoy the banner raising. Go Caps!

I really hope to see Khabby in LA they are a team in need of solid goal-tending. Its going to be hard for anyone to play in-front of the defense that the Caps are putting on the ice. Being the only team in your division to make the playoffs and getting taken out in the first round is hardly a statement!
