Late Practice Today
The Caps are traveling this morning and are scheduled to practice at 3 p.m. at Scotiabank Place. I'm going to stop in Washington for the night before meeting the team in Ottawa tomorrow morning.
But make sure to check back for an update (assuming practice does not get cancelled, though I doubt it will).
I was told last night that Chris Bourque will be sticking around at least through the Ottawa game, and perhaps longer. So I'm writing a little about him for tomorrow's paper.
Update:Poti, after skating a team-high 25 minutes last night, told me he was sore and might not skate today. Well, I'm told he's on the ice in Ottawa. So I guess that means the strained groin muscle he's been battling the past two weeks is getting better.
Neither Clark or Semin have joined the team as of late today, so I'm assuming they'll be out again.
Ovechkin, Kozlov and Nylander did not skate. I'm told they are healthy, just taking the day off to recover.
Update:Clark, Pothier and Poti will take part in the Vietnam Veteran Memorials' 'Reading of the Names' on Friday on the National Mall. The players will begin reading their respective lists of 30 names of war veterans beginning at 2:14 p.m.
