We've beaten Philly, Detroit, and Pittsburgh. Why stop now? Let's go Caps!

That was one of Ovechkin's worst periods of hockey this season. He watched a shorthanded 2-on-1 develop instead of backchecking. He turned the puck over on another PP, forcing Neuvirth to make a big save. He made a casual pass back to Green right at the end of the period.

The Phoenix goal started with us unable to deal with their forecheck despite having a numbers advantage. The goal scorer was completely unimpeded because somebody missed their assignment (Fehr?).

The team generally looked a little flat but Ovechkin was possibly the worst on the ice. You don't hear that often.

I thought we played OK...not great but not horrible. We knew it was going to be hard for them to come out with a lot of passion right after the Pitt game. I am not going to go brag about this game, but I am not dissapointed with it at all. It was a decent win.

POSTGAME THOUGHTS:
Not pretty but workmanlike. Timely goals but a little too much cutesy, standing around and defensive braincramps especially in the third. But I'll take it.

Green needs to step up the defensive game. It's nothing new with his giveaways leading to opposing team's scoring chances.

Neuvy - solid in goal - great saves at the end of the game and he did a good job not allowing too many rebounds.

Nice to see feistiness at the end. What a scrappy gritty game. Too bad Bradley didn't bury that sick pass from Steckel. Still don't know how that got through.

Well even though it wasn't pretty - my hats off to this team for a 4-0 week and beating solid teams along the way. A good week. Let's hope they stay down to earth and don't get too high on themselves. Next week is a new week.

A couple of days to re-focus and get ready for a battle on Long Island against a much improved Islanders team. This team has taken the Caps to OT all three times to date. Let's hope for a good one.

It's been a two point night.

ICE BREAKERS GOAL SHAKERS.

Not bragging about it either, looked a little shaky there at times. I thought the Caps pretty much matched Phoenix's intensity right to the end. No complaints, good win.

Other than Semin, I thought Laich had a really strong performance. worked hard along the boards and in the crease to either redirect a shot or stash in a rebound. Glad to see him out of that slump and playing his gritty, aggressive style of hockey.

It wasn't a pretty win but we'll take the two points non-the-less. Greenie need to play better on the defence.

I'd like to hear what the Semin bashers have to say about his preformance tonight.
