Of course Bettman earned a rise. He's a muppet

    Posted by: TottenhamCaps | July 13, 2009 2:43 PM | Report abuse

Ah yes, Bettman's 27% raise is right in line with raises for 2009...yupp. Are Ovie, Malkin and Crosby his performance competencies? He's getting way too much credit for the success brought to the league by the young guns.

I'd rather spend my time hating on players than on executives.

    Posted by: thiazzi | July 13, 2009 2:46 PM | Report abuse

So how ticked off is Bettman knowing that Coach Gretzky makes as much as he does?

Oh man ... I want to see Orlov!!

    Posted by: Boo- | July 13, 2009 3:11 PM | Report abuse

He sounds pretty nasty. Gonna have to sneak over to the rink one of these days after work..

@TEB.....would it not be more jounalisticly correct to call Anton Gussy Jr versus little Gussy, if I am not mistaken he is Bigger than the old man?

carlson and orlov sounds like an awesome pairing

More journalistically correct, but less hilarious and ironic.

Did you see Godfrey out there? I didn't spot him, but I wasn't there for the full PM practice.

    Hey Tarik,
Could you report on how the local kid, Nick Sorkin is doing at camp. Pretty amazing that the best local player gets a chance to play with professionals a full year before he is even draft eligible. It would be great if you could ask him some questions about what he's learning from Bruce and the assistant coaches. Local article on him here:

Was checking out and came across a "feature" of players into hi-jinx and pulling pranks. This was one of them...

"While Sidney Crosby was in the spotlight for his purported whining to referees several of his fellow Pittsburgh Penguins started hiding baby clothes and accessories under the superstar's locker. Marc-Andre Fleury admitted later than the Crosby was less than impressed with the prank."

No see that is pretty cool, interactive sport reporting. Ask a question (Were is Godfrey) and get a prompt response. Gotta love technology!

Tarik, How about a comparison with this years defensive coaching vs last years.

    Posted by: billd2 | July 13, 2009 5:24 PM | Report abuse

Very interesting. So we'll get to see Lil Gus this year one way or another.
