Alexander Semin out with lower-body injury

By Washington Post sports editors

Coach Bruce Boudreau said winger Alexander Semin, who did not skate today, is out with an undisclosed lower-body injury. Semin's status for the Capitals' games this weekend -- Saturday in Boston and Sunday in Ottawa -- is uncertain, Boudreau said.

Defenseman Mike Green was shown in last night's first episode of "24/7" nursing a possible MCL injury, and asked today how his knee was, he replied, "It's okay."

@cstanton1, no doubt you're referring to Green, who's been out a half dozen more games than Semin.

Green, who is battling a MCL-related injured, that was also reported as an "undisclosed injury." He had no problem telling HBO. Let's hope Semin's injury is not as potentially serious.

Green also is involved in a lot more body contact.

Seems like you know the symptoms from experience. Why don't you prescribe some for yourself while you're at it Doc.

typical semin. why is this shocking???

I have to imagine if the MCL is THAT serious, and not just a little sore, etc, the Caps would prevent that from being on HBO.

Doesnt it make sense that the teams can veto some of the footage?

Moose, you sound like a hefty woman. Wrap yourself in saran wrap and lose a few. Even if its just water weight you'll be less offensive on the eyes. Thanks!!

just for that comment, i hope someone gives cstanton the same lower body injury that semin has.

somehow, i don't think midol is going to help what's wrong with cstanton. birth control certainly would, though.

are you really a 'spinner' ?

This is one of the knocks on Semin, he isn't durable.

When the team needs him most right now where is he?

This team is a joke. Half the team is down with flu symptoms.

Isn't there a full medical staff attending to these players to ensure that everyone gets a freakin' flu shot?

Posted by: RoyHobbs4 | December 16, 2010 5:29 PM | Report abuse

anyone else notice Semin limping around on 24/7? At first i thought it was just him walking around on skates, but compared to everyone else he was limping. And then leaving the arena and getting on the bus at the end of the episode, he had a noticeable limp.

I was wondering how long it was going to take for our illustrious analyst to start attacking Semin for his ailments. Apparently, according to the insinuations of some of our Illustrious Analysts, the Flu has been eradicated and the Caps medical staff is ignorant of this fact. Midol is an effective drug for a certain male illustrious analyst (I am not surprised, he seems confused).

@RoyHobbs4 - From research elsewhere, I believe the form of flu suffered by the team was gastroenteritis ("stomach flu") rather than influenza ("flu"). The flu shot doesn't help with that. Also, if it had been influenza-related, they would have been out a lot longer than 2-3 days...

Most children who are taunted and teased incessantly grow up to be smart poop chutes and bitter about everything that makes other remotely hopeful or happy. Sad they're allowed to use computers to spread their viral stupidity. It's easy for them to insult people who don't know or don't care about their self-serving opinions. They like hearing themselves talk. Stupid. Just plain stupid.
