Morrisonn Returns; No Fedorov Or Johnson

After hurting his hip in the first period of last night's 5-1 win in Carolina, Brent Johnson is not practicing today. But the Caps haven't made a recall, so maybe it's not very serious (or perhaps they're just trying to save a day of salary against the Cap).

Defenseman Shaone Morrisonn, meantime, is on the ice with the team for the first time since straining a groin muscle last Thursday, while Sergei Fedorov is still sidelined.

I'll have more after practice.

@tarik

It's a lock we see Theodore tomorrow in your opinion?

So... Who would we call up? Russian 5 sounds good to me. thats if Fed's is better...

Seconded on the heal up quick Johnny!

If Mo was a lock to play Friday, though, wouldn't Sloan have been sent back down? Maybe this is a trial run.

Keep Sloan, lose Juice!

No Johnny!?!?!?!? AHHHHHHHHH!!!!! We are DOOOOMMEEED!

Just kidding. A Brodeur-less Devils team? I think the Caps should start Jose both games.

What is fair is fair. Johnnie got stuck with that first loss in Atlanta (not really fair) and got credit for the victory last night (not really fair)
I suppose it all works out in the long run.

I watched the replay of the game on the hurricane broadcast, they were dumping on Semin a little becuase he still uses a translater. I think he knows, speaks, understands, more than he leads on to people. He is just the shy type , and doesnt like all the hoop la.

Semin sucks
He is an overrated *****
He sucks last year, and everyone said he is a waste of money. Now everyone would like to kiss his ***
Capts will finish 7th and get kick out of playoff by Flyers once again
Washington : city of loosers

5) Mike Richards is still better than Semin
4) K, Timonen is better than M. Green
3) Biron is better than Thé 0 or Johnson
2) Coté is a bettre fighter than Brashear
1) You suck, Flyers beat you in playoff

Posted by: PaulMorin88 | November 13, 2008 11:56 AM

PaulMorin88, I can't control what others do as I have backed up Semin ever since he came to the Caps - ask anyone.

But, the truth is... you are just unhappy about your pathetic Flyers. Washington = city of losers... at least we all have jobs up here. What is there to do in Philly? And who is to say the Flyers will even make the playoffs? They have a losing record right now. All of those players are better than the Caps players? Johnson has better stats than Biron. Brash plays in most of the Caps games - Cote does not. But last I checked, this was hockey, not boxing. Timonen - who is that? Richards - he's having a good year. How is Briere doing by the way?

Way to represent the Dungeen of Doom.

Semin is from Siberia. It's not like he grew up in Moscow like Ovie where there was probably more English exposure. He probably doesnt want to say much until he feels like he wont mess up all his words.

@Capsfannmiss & Tarik - How did THAT work out, anyway? I don't get it. Johnson played only the last third in Atlanta, and yet he got stuck with the loss; Theordore played the last TWO thirds last night, and Johnson got the win? I'm confused...!

Thirded, or maybe fourthed... fifthed? Anyway -- JOHNNY, GET BETTER!!! Though if we keep the hot glove on Jose, it will be OK if you take your time getting back to full strength.

Aw, _828, why feed the trolls? He's not worth it. He's just butthurt because the Flyers stink this year, and he's not old enough to drink, so he's trolling on the Caps boards to feel better about himself.

Ignore him, and eventually he'll wander off when his mommy calls him to the dinner table.

I may be simplifying, but the W/L goalie is based upon who is in net when the winning goal is scored.

Against Atlanta it was tied at 4 and then Brent gave up 3. Last night it was 3-1 when Jose came in, so it was Brent's W.

Posted by: irockthered | November 13, 2008 12:11 PM

It depends on who was in goal when the GWG was scored

kittypawz,

I know, but I'm bored and I'm not allowed to drink at work - so that was my entertainment.

From last post...

On Semin:

http://www.nhl.com/ice/recap.htm?id=2008020223

"RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -If Alexander Semin keeps this up, he might not be the other Alex in Washington for long.

"Semin had two goals and three assists to take the NHL scoring lead, and the Capitals routed the Carolina Hurricanes 5-1 on Wednesday night to take sole possession of the Southeast Division lead.

"I hope he's going to play the same way - he's going to be the best player in the league," said linemate - and face of the franchise - Alex Ovechkin."

_828: Okay, I'll give you that. How's this for an entertaining topic? A couple of days ago, Peerless posted a list of things that people shouldn't do at Caps games because it's really annoying. The thread sort of died a little bit, but I'll throw it out here -- what's your one biggest pet peeve that people do at Caps games?

Mine is the people who either don't wait for the stop in play before returning to their seats, or do wait but take thirty years to do it, so they're still in the way when play starts again.
