NHL Trophies on Display at KCI on Friday
The Caps are inviting fans to Kettler Capitals Iceplex on Friday for a free public skating session and an opportunity to view -- and pose for pictures with -- select major NHL trophies from the Hockey Hall of Fame.
The skating session will be from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., and the trophies will be on display on the mezzanine level between the two rinks from 12 - 1 p.m. (If you've never seen NHL trophies up close, trust me, they're even more impressive in person.)
On display will be the Art Ross and the Maurice "Rocket" Richard trophies that Alex Ovechkin has already won. And there could be a few others, depending on how Ovechkin, Coach Bruce Boudreau and Nicklas Backstrom fare at the NHL Awards Show the night before in Toronto. (Due to logistical concerns, though, even if the trio runs the table, all six trophies won't be on display.)
