Ovechkin, Backstrom and Green Cash In

Earning a spot in the playoffs wasn't the only reward for three Caps. Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom and Mike Green also cashed in with their impressive regular season performances.

Here is a rundown of Ovechkin's bonuses:
He gets $984,200 in base salary and $2,850,000 in bonuses from the team. From the league, he'll earn $250,000 if he wins the Hart Trophy; $250,000 for winning the Richard Trophy; $150,000 for finishing first in points; $150,000 for finishing first in goals; $100,000 for being selected as a first team all-star; $100,000 for finishing first in points per game. If he wins the Hart, he'll earn a total of $4,834,200.

Backstrom's bonuses: He gets $765,00 in base salary, an $85,000 signing bonus and $1,350,000 in bonuses from the team. From the league, he'll get $212,500 if he wins the Calder Trophy; $60,000 for finishing 10th in assists among forwards. So if he wins ROY, he'll earn a total of $2,472,500.

Green's bonuses:
He gets $650,000 in annual salary plus a $200,000 signing bonus from the team. From the league, he'll earn $150,000 for finishing first in goals among defensemen; $30,000 for finishing 10th in assists for defensemen; $90,000 for finishing seventh in points for defensemen and $20,000 for finishing ninth in points per game for defensemen. That's a total of $1,140,000.
