Morning roundup

Welcome to the Olympic edition of the Morning Roundup, a collection of links dedicated to the five Caps players (and some others) representing their countries at the Vancouver Games.

We'll also have daily updates on the Caps, starting today over at our Olympics blog, Heavy Medal.

Today's links:

*Before we move on to the players in Vancouver, here's what the other Caps will do with their true Olympic break.

*The stars playing in these Games make for an utterly exciting hockey tournament. (ESPN)

*"Everyone's waiting for one guy!" (Alex Ovetjkin)

*Canada feeling the pressure to win gold. (Ted's Take)

*Ron Wilson talks USA Hockey chances. (Puck Daddy)

*Russian lessons for Vancouver. (Russian Machine Never Breaks)

*Ovie vs. Crosby. Sigh. (Olympic Hockey Blog)

*Johan Franzen replaces Tomas Holmstrom for Team Sweden. (NHL.com)

*Sweden or Russia, who ya got? From the Vancouver Sun:

Brian Pothier of the Washington Capitals had an interesting Olympic take, when he was interviewed by NHL.com recently. Essentially, the defenceman was asked to referee a Washington dressing room 'dispute' between teammates Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom. Which of their nations, Russia or Sweden, was more likely to bring home the gold?
Pothier, an American, thought for a second and then said: "I think I'll take Sweden.
"I know Russia's got all the firepower you could ask for, but I think if (Henrik) Lundqvist plays well, they can play defence as a unit and they can control the puck because guys like Alfredsson and Backstrom can really do that."

*Last but not least, some photos of Team Russia's practice:
