Ovechkin Is "100-percent"
A day after being struck on the right leg by a slap shot off the stick of one of his teammates, Alex Ovechkin showed no ill effects today in practice.
So relax, okay? He'll definitely be in the lineup Friday night against the Canucks.
"He's fine, 100 percent," Coach Glen Hanlon said at Burnaby 8 Rinks in subruban Vancouver. "He was flying all over the place. He walked away last night. It's nothing, zero concern. No treatment, nothing."
Ovechkin was hit by Shaone Morrisonn's slap shot from the point with 2.7 seconds remaining in Wednesday's 5-3 victory over the Avs in Denver. The 21-year-old Russian crumpled to the ice and had to be helped to the dressing room. But he was walking without a limp afterward.
