Post Deadline Doldrums

All quiet on the Caps front today. Which is how I expect it's going to be most days between now and April 7th. Except for maybe the odd breaking news bulletin on the newest call-up from Hershey.

This morning, I came across an interesting article about playoff-bound Dainius Zubrus in The Buffalo News. He really sounds pumped about getting the chance to win the Cup. And then I got to thinking how much fun it's going to be watching him on television this spring.

I thought this quote from Zubrus was worth passing along: "The last couple years in Washington, you didn't really get to experience the playoffs and a really happy atmosphere. You're not even sure if you're going to make the playoffs one day, and then the next thing you know, you know you're going to have a very good chance of winning the Stanley Cup. It definitely gives you a little boost."

He also said of not being able to negotiate a long term deal in Washington: "When I am able to lift a big trophy over my head...it'll be worth it."
