Pothier Injured vs. Boston
Defenseman Brian Pothier did not play in the third period of tonight's 2-0 loss after sustaining an upper body injury. He is day-to-day, according to the team.
Although it's unclear exactly when Pothier got hurt, he was drilled along the sideboards by rugged winger Milan Lucic early in the second period. From my point over view high above the ice, it appeared that Pothier's head may have snapped back and possibly hit the boards.
Whatever happened, Pothier joins a growing list of injured Caps. Alexander Semin (tailbone) and Tom Poti (upper body) missed tonight's game in Boston, and Chris Clark (strained groin muscle) and Brent Johnson (sprained left knee) are also out.
I hope to get more info on Pothier tomorrow in Montreal.
