Pregame, Live Game Posts

Coach Bruce Boudreau told the media that he and General Manager George McPhee expect to hear from Alex Ovechkin tomorrow and get an update on when he might return to Washington.

"We figured if he left at 1 p.m. it's a 12 hour flight," Boudreau said. "He didn't get there until 2 or 3 in the morning (Eastern), which would have been half way through the day (in Moscow) and that he'll be pretty tired. We expect to hear from him tomorrow."

Boudreau also seemed overly cautious about when defensemen Tom Poti might return from a strained groin. The team has had bad luck with nagging groin injuries so don't be surprised if the Caps take extra time to ensure that Poti's completely ready to go. Poti skated this morning but hasn't participated in the full drills yet.

It's hard to say "until we see him actually practice with the group," Boudreau said about Poti's return. "It's great to talk about that but we want to make sure. (Saturday's game against the Sabres) would be 18 days off, and I would have to believe he has to practice before he plays."

**Because tonight's game won't be televised I'll be posting after each period and again at the end of the game to give everyone some more details of what's going on in Verizon Center.

Hey Ken Klee was just grabbed off waivers by the Yotes. FYI for those old Caps fans who liked his play for old DC for so many years.

Versus has the rights to any game at a certain time on a certain day through out the season. I dont know exactly what it is, but the two games of the caps that arent on TV are both on Tuesdays at 7pm so that may be it.

Gavlegirl how are you watching on espn360 when espn doesnt carry the games? are you in Canada watching through tsn?
