Actually, if you've been following the first month of the season, do you really need a scouting report on the Senators? Just in case you haven't, here's all you really need to know about tonight's opponent. From the Sun:
The Senators weren't patting themselves on the back for having the best start in NHL history with a 13-1 record and 26 points through the first 14 games of the season.
The Senators are now taking questions on whether they can match the 1976-77 Canadiens, who lost only eight games and finished with an incredible 60-8-12 record for 132 points.
Could be a long night for the Caps, who find themselves at the opposite end of the Eastern Conference standings after losing four straight and 10 of the past 12. The only good news for the visitors is that Senators center Jason Spezza isn't expected to be ready, according to the Sun.
Note:It looks like my connection to Ottawa is delayed, so there may be no morning skate for me today. If I don't make it, I'll make sure to provide an update on the Caps this afternoon.
Update:Yep. Didn't get here in time for the a.m. skate. But I'm told tonight's lineup with be the same as Tuesday's, with one exception. Eminger is out and Jurcina is back in after being a healthy scratch in Atlanta. Poti is also a go.
