Semin, Morrisonn, Fedorov Out Against Ducks
The morning skate is underway here at Honda Center and it doesn't look like the Caps are going to have any of their injured players for tonight's game against the Ducks.
Alexander Semin (back/shoulder) isn't skating, and when I ran into him a moment ago, he would only shrug when I asked him if he was better. Shaone Morrisonn (groin) and Sergei Fedorov (ankle) are skating, but Coach Bruce Boudreau said he does not expect either of them to play.
Boudreau did, however, say that Jose Theodore will get the start. Theodore started practice wearing -- finally -- his new, red, white and blue mask. But he took it off after a few minutes and is now wearing the old one. I would take that as a sign that he's going to need some time to get used to the new one before wearing it.
The lines resemble the ones I posted yesterday.

Tarik, can we get a picture of the mask. I hope Semin is just taking it easy, the Caps could sure use him against the mighty Sharks.

They should just fly Semin home now for treatment. If he is not better after 5 days, then put him on the shelf for 2 weeks and get it over with.

Good trade if we can get Cam Barker D-Man or Forward Dustin Byfugelin... plus this trade would probaly free up the little cap space needed to get Karl Alzner up here...

Rats. Well, here's to a 110% performance by all 20 guys for all 60 minutes. Turn the Ducks into Duck and Cover, boys!
Looking forward to seeing Jose's mask when he comes out with it.
As for Nylander - I could get behind an affordable veteran D or a couple of draft picks, and some cap space. Not being sure what we could get for Nylander (beyond something good), we also have to think about what's best for us.

Rumors floating, if your into the rumor thing. Nylander to Chicago a done deal once Chicago frees up "cap" space by trading a goaltender. TSN reports.
Hockey Buzz has the CAPITALS in the running for Mat Sundin......that would be interesting if it were doable.....
I don't see it happening , but it's nice to think about the possibility.
