Sloan Recalled
With defenseman Shaone Morrisonn suffering from a groin pull, the Caps have recalled Tyler Sloan from minor-league Hershey.
I'll have more from the morning skate a little later.

Hopefully Sloan is healthy. I guess our cap situation must be a lot worse than we all realize. I mean to call up a guy from the minors that is injured speaks volumes. I did think he played well for us though. Had a goal, a huge hit, and 1 turnover that led to a goal for the other team. Sounds about par for our D.

Mike,
Not sure exatly how the NHL cap works, but I am sure there would be some ramifications for cutting Jose. I don't think his number would just come off the cap, so it's not an option. Also, from what I hear on here Varlamov isn't ready to come up yet and also has been hurt. Don't look for any major moves between Hershey and here.

@rachel216
Boudreau has only said that he is leaning toward starting Johnson tonight.

Everybody might as well get use to Jose beig here for the balance. The will not bring up Varlamov this season. The kid needs to play in the AHL, get some seasoning and get accustomed to the North American game/rinks. They do not want to damage this guy, by bringing him up too soon. The management looks at the Big picture, as well as what is happening right now.

Thanks Tarik,
Can't say I'm too thrilled about this, however .... he did played well enough in his last game. I think if he remains steady and plays within himself, he'll be fine. I hope Feds can play.
Side question for you Tarik .... any change at all the Caps cut Theodore and bring expedite Varlamov if this trend continues?
Thanks,
Mike
