Stat Of The Game

Not sure if this has already been thrown out there, but I'm told the Caps' 12 shots in today's 2-1 victory over the Islanders was the franchise's lowest shot total in a victory. Ever.

The previous low was 13 in a 5-2 win over St. Louis in 1977, according to Elias Sports Bureau.

Talk about being resourceful. Or was it simply a great game from their 37-year-old goalie? Either way, if the Caps win Friday at MSG, they'll have their best start (4-0) since 1997-98.

Note:The Caps earned a well-deserved day off on Tuesday. I'll also take the opportunity to be off. But I'll update the blog with any breaking news.
