We may be seeing Carlson sooner than we thought, although I thought the D played really well tonight.

I think the Caps have found their second point-man on the PP who can play next to Green...

POSTGAME THOUGHTS:
Wow what a night. What a night. First off congratulations to the future Caps D-man John Carlson who just opened up and whipped a shot that won the U.S. Juniors the gold medal. Just a great rush up the ice. What a phenomenal game. I sat there during the intermission and wanted to say it but didn't for fear of jinxing but I thought of saying to my father "my money is on Carlson to win it." Haha oh well. Glad he netted the winner.
Congrats to Ovie on being elected as the Captain. The players spoke and the coaches listened and I believe they gave the right player the "C" Just awesome.
Congrats to Stecks on the extension. Not the best ability but that long reach and the dominance in the faceoff circle are quite elements that are needed.
Haha oh was there a game tonight? Not pretty at times but a nice all-around effort. Neuvy was solid again and Semin just letting loose cannon after cannon tonight. I guess it was only appropriate that the theme of the night was USA teams knocking off Canadian teams.
Another one comes knocking on Thursday in Ottawa. Time to slow down the Sens.
It's been a 2-point night

Tonights game was great but Carlson's game winner was the highlight of the night by a long shot.
To anyone that missed the game I highly suggest watching it on re run if possible. Wow what a goal.
oh yeah - Semin's 2nd goal was pretty sweet and Flash looks pretty d@mned good at center also.

Great time at the game tonight.
A bad Caps game is better than a good day at work, but a great Caps game after a lousy day at work is almost life-affirming.
yea Flash, yea Stecks, yea Ovi (but I thought it should have been Brooks with the C)

in speaking of Carlson
can we now trade Mike Green for a Pronger type of defenseman?
if we had this, we'd win 3-4 cups in the next 5 yrs
