Steeltown Bound

That's right, I'm headed to Pittsburgh to see if Marc-Andre Fleury and the Pens can force a Game 7, or whether Nicklas Lidstrom and the Winged Wheel will bounce back and roll to another Stanley Cup. If the series returns to Detroit on Saturday, I'll be there, too.

Anyway, I've got to get on the road. But I'll do my best to update the blog if any significant news breaks before the game.

Update:Don't forget to catch Coach Bruce Boudreau on WPL this afternoon.

Congrats, Tarik!

Is the Post sending you or are you doing this on your own?

I hope you (and we) get to see the Stanley Cup presentation tonight.

Looking forward to your coverage and perspective of the game. As much as I will miss hockey for the summer I am hoping the cup is awarded tonight. GO WINGS!

With the insane performance of Fleury, this should make it a very interesting offseason for him as he will no doubt get a big raise.

I never thought I would say this, but I'm actually rooting for the pens tonight. Game 7 this weekend would be as good as it gets. Heres to the Red Wings in seven!

Eat pizza to win in overtime, this is what Sykora did. :-)

"We had fruit, we had pizza, we had guys on IVs, guys pounding fluid," said winger Pascal Dupuis.

The fare included grilled chicken, pasta, pizza, apples, oranges and protein shakes, but to hear the players tell it, they didn't exactly pig out. They picked at the food, eating just enough to stay energized. They also were reminded not to eat too much of the cheese and pepperoni on the pizza - that would slow them down - but rather the crust. Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury advised team physician Charles Burke that he wasn't hungry, to which Burke basically said, "Eat anyway."

I really hope DET wins tonight. First of all cause bleh to the Pens. Second of all cause my GF family is visiting on Saturday. I wouldn't be able to watch game 7.

I just hope the refs don't mess up.

Joe B, You mean Susie? My mom's name? I'll be back on probably 1/2 hr before puck-drop. I'm going to start my homework now, Mom. :D
Greg S, I'm a hospitality major. This is the only marketing class I have to take. If you're looking for a good marketing person though, find someone who got their degree at JMU. Our marketing program is 3rd in the nation but they're not stuck up about it. Particle physics would do me in too. Math beyond basic accounting isn't my strong suit.
I don't think I would be able to eat either. All the adrenaline running would make the thought of eating unwelcome, to say the least. But I do want to know who caters and how I can get that job.

Just watched the saves of the year on the Caps www.nhl.tv website. It was well done. They not only included all three keepers, but a bunch of the rest of the guys, too. Even my boy Laing - dropping twice is rapid-fire succession to block shots. I'd so much prefer to see him out there over Flash ...

Sorry for the delay in my responses today. I was traveling.

1) I didn't bring an Ovechkin bobble head. So I've got nothing to throw.

2) I'm staying downtown. As for the Wings, I'm pretty sure they are, too, as I saw a few players walking around in workout clothes outside my hotel when I checked in a few hours ago.

3) I ain't wearing no disguise. This isn't Philly, you know?

4) The Osala deal is not yet signed, sealed and delivered, I'm told. But that doesn't mean one isn't close.

You just got a get out of the dog house free card ... NOW you're talkin' my language!! ;-) So where were all the guys that night, anyway?!? And don't try justifying it by saying JMU is in college so of course she was up - some of us work for a livin'! (Not that should would not have been here if she was working - she did have an exam in the AM, after all). Oh, and I think she went out for an energy drink, although she mentioned Mt. Dew once (JMU - I lived on that in college!!); regardless, she came back after that (can we blame her departure for the loss?).

Anyway, I may be here for some of the game but not all. :-( That is, of course, unless it goes into triple OT ... then I should be able to catch a lot of it!! ;-)

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 7:28 PM | Report abuse

No, Bruce! That means that a lucky bounce can give the Cup to the Pens.

I don't ever want to see that, well at least not until The Next One moves out of his team's owner's house, if then.

But, if it extends my honorary membership to the girls club, I guess it won't be all bad.

Speaking of the my honorary membership, I hope I get invited to the girls club training camp next season.

Posted by: tess | June 4, 2008 8:57 PM | Report abuse

speaking of...

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 8:58 PM | Report abuse

Yes, I don't get the up the nose thing, either, but I like the baby commercials. Not so much the puking one but the clown one is funny. I still laugh out loud at the NHL commercials - the nursery one, the 'cat in the hat' one, and the old olie/wine one. Granted, I am easily amused, but they crack me up.

So are we in desperate need of some Caps hockey or what? I shudder to think what we will be posting this time next month ...

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 9:00 PM | Report abuse

(not that olie or the wine are old - the commercial is old :-))

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 9:02 PM | Report abuse

Weighing in on the commercials...
I like the Dockers and Heineken because of the music they use. The Edge gel ones are stupid. The puking baby is gross, although I like the other E-trade baby one where he rents a clown. And the cavemen are terrible.

Posted by: tess | June 4, 2008 9:02 PM | Report abuse

tess, agreed on both counts. Who's scared of spilled white-out? It sort of makes the arena look empty, they just blend in with the ice. Pretty good period of hockey, especially the Detroit goal. Kinda boring after the other night, though.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 9:03 PM | Report abuse

Boo!,
The clown one is great, but I haven't seen it since the Super Bowl. I love the NHL commercials. This time next month, we'll be blogging about all the great free agents that just became available!
Tess, I liked them at first because of the music, but they've overplayed them so much, I cringe when I hear it now. The Dodge cross-over commercial is great, only because I'm thinking about how cool it would be to set up a slip-n-slide on a major downhill street.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 9:07 PM | Report abuse

I don't mind the Edge moisturizing; it's the flying up the nose I don't like. I know they're only referring to the aroma, but the sight of little critters, hot or not, flying up your nose and partying there is a gross out.

But the worst commercial of all is the one for some athlete's foot medication where they show an ugly cartoon germ lifting up a big toenail to infect underneath. I lost a toenail playing basketball and it's not pleasant.

Posted by: Joe B | June 4, 2008 9:07 PM | Report abuse

jmu:
i agree about the white-out, but i think they do it out of a sense of tradition (the first ___-out was white). it made more sense back in the day - home sweaters were white. now they just look like wings fans.

is it me, or have there been more complaints about bad calls this year than previous years? if that is really the case, then don't you think they will address it in the off-season? they almost have to ... don't they?!?

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 9:10 PM | Report abuse

tess: I also agree on the whiteout. It makes sense if the home team is wearing white; it's senseless if they're not. Makes you feel the organizers sort of missed the whole point of supporting the home team.

Oops, not watching live!

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 9:27 PM | Report abuse

Yes! Nice rebound goal!

Boo: Mauree just posted a couple of minutes ago. The other guys, I just gave incorrect directions on where we were meeting tonight.

Posted by: Joe B | June 4, 2008 9:27 PM | Report abuse

Yay!!!!

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 9:29 PM | Report abuse

The Wings need to pile on a couple more and put it out of reach.

Glad wonder-boy came back on the ice. If he was truly hurt it would give the Pens an easy excuse to lose.

Posted by: tess | June 4, 2008 9:29 PM | Report abuse

The first goal and the second were both important, but now that it's 2-0, the next goal is very important

Posted by: Joe B | June 4, 2008 9:29 PM | Report abuse

Joe B,
You're either very very devious or very very smart! Since you're my mom though, I'm guessing both.
That was a pretty weak save attempt by Flower. Just my thought, but that looked pathetic.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 9:31 PM | Report abuse

Joe:
Nice ... ;-)

RE: the next goal being important - i could not agree more (you know the saying about a two goal lead ...).

well folks, i am going to have to scoot in a bit, but i hope to find a tv in the process! i will be back later. ya'all behave yourselves in the meantime!

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 9:34 PM | Report abuse

As a side note, the Wilkes-Barre Baby Pens are playing game 3 of the Calder Cup finals tonight and are getting thoroughly whipped 5-1 in the 3rd period by Chicago (Thrashers farm team).

Posted by: tess | June 4, 2008 9:34 PM | Report abuse

Joe B,
agreed, Let's hope its a goal for Detroit. But just don't say "Next goal wins." Seriously, if they said that one more time, during Sudden. Death. Over. Time. during Stanley. Cup. Game. 5. I was going to scream.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 9:36 PM | Report abuse

Forgot to add that Chicago won the first two games at home and tonight's stomping is taking place in Wilkes-Barre.

Posted by: tess | June 4, 2008 9:36 PM | Report abuse

oh - one more thing ...

the online play by play said "stoppage - frozen puck" at one point. well, isn't it always?!? ;-) (i know, leeguru tells me to not 'try' to be funny, but i can't help myself sometimes ... HA!)

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 9:37 PM | Report abuse

Loved the hit on Crosby by Stuart.

Posted by: Sombrero Guy | June 4, 2008 9:39 PM | Report abuse

Did anybody else not have a true HD feed for the first period and a half? I had the Capitals away game "HD" look until recently.

Posted by: Sombrero Guy | June 4, 2008 9:41 PM | Report abuse

what was the penalty for? damn commercial

Posted by: mauree | June 4, 2008 9:41 PM | Report abuse

S.O.B.!

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 9:43 PM | Report abuse

Boo leaves and the Pens score.

Boo! Come back, the Wings need you, I know they do.

Posted by: Joe B | June 4, 2008 9:43 PM | Report abuse

Jean-O scores...

He has a face for radio...

Posted by: JSchon | June 4, 2008 9:43 PM | Report abuse

mauree:
per the radio, a 'questionalable' interference call. boy, they had better not win, otherwise there will be A LOT of talk about that goal. ok - logging off. REALLY!

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 9:43 PM | Report abuse

Well that sucked! But really, you could see it coming. The Wings were giving the Pens too much time and space. Guess the fans have finally woken up.

Posted by: tess | June 4, 2008 9:44 PM | Report abuse

@tess

see coming from where? Detroit was totally dominating until that penalty.

Posted by: mauree | June 4, 2008 9:47 PM | Report abuse

tess, that's what happens when your captain gets arrested for indecent exposure...you lose. Its kharma.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 9:51 PM | Report abuse

@jmu

I must have missed that news :D what happened?

Posted by: mauree | June 4, 2008 9:54 PM | Report abuse

Give me a second so I get my facts right! I remember something about streaking, but I'll give you a link.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 10:00 PM | Report abuse

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 10:01 PM | Report abuse

Mauree:
jmu is referring to Nathan Smith, WBS Pens captain. After the Pens knocked Hershey out in the first round, Smith and friends were partying and he got arrested for streaking through downtown Wilkes-barre.

As for my comment about the Pitt goal, I just felt like the Pens turned it up a notch after the Wings second goal and the Wings didn't respond like I hoped they would. Yea, the penalty didn't help either but I guess I've been so impressed by the Wings so far that I was expecting a better PK.

Posted by: tess | June 4, 2008 10:01 PM | Report abuse

The Wings could have used Laing.

Posted by: Joe B | June 4, 2008 10:05 PM | Report abuse

oh yeah I remember that news :D
The way you said it, I thought you were referring to Lidstrom.

Posted by: mauree | June 4, 2008 10:05 PM | Report abuse

nope! Lidstrom is way too awesome and too stoic of a captain to go streaking.
And Crosby's too much of a wimp. Papa Mario would not approve.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 10:11 PM | Report abuse

jmu: And I really would NOT want to see Crosby in the buff! Ick!

Posted by: tess | June 4, 2008 10:17 PM | Report abuse

whoa! What just happened there?

Posted by: Anonymous | June 4, 2008 10:19 PM | Report abuse

Nice goal by Fleury.

Posted by: Joe B | June 4, 2008 10:19 PM | Report abuse

yay!!! *high fives everybody*

Posted by: mauree | June 4, 2008 10:19 PM | Report abuse

tess, I agree wholeheartedly!
Yes!!!!! Way to go Flower!

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 10:20 PM | Report abuse

quick question to those who play hockey: What's the difference between HCNA and HCAV in a hockey stick?

Posted by: Anonymous | June 4, 2008 10:22 PM | Report abuse

I'm back! And just in time for that goal! Woo hoo! I even have a TV now!! :-D LET'S GO RED WINGS!!!

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 10:23 PM | Report abuse

that question about sticks was me.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 10:25 PM | Report abuse

Ooooooooh, that Cup is the prettiest thing I've seen in a long time. (Okay, since last game) Goosebumps!!

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 10:28 PM | Report abuse

Boo gets ready to leave, Pens score. Boo comes back, Wings score. Boo, where are you going to put your Hart Trophy?

JMU: I last played about ten years ago and never heard of those initials. I used wood or composite sticks.

Posted by: Joe B | June 4, 2008 10:28 PM | Report abuse

Posted by: mauree | June 4, 2008 10:29 PM | Report abuse

Joe:
LOL!! :-) All a part of being the director of the girls club! ;-)

SOG are down, as is the differential. I think Fleury ran out of gas in the last game.

BTW, who is the Pen who looks like he is from land of the lost? Not a slestack (not sure if I spelled that right?) but a ... ???

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 10:30 PM | Report abuse

Joe B,
Its a composite stick by TPS, but it gives you a choice of right or left, HCAV or HCNA.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 10:31 PM | Report abuse

I have to say, I was surprised to see so many fans when I saw the TV - on the radio it did not sound like there were any! The Wings should win for their fans alone.

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 10:32 PM | Report abuse

Detroit seems determined to not make the same error of game 5 and let go of the accelerator.

Posted by: mauree | June 4, 2008 10:34 PM | Report abuse

hmmmm, thanks mauree. That's not entirely helpful.
Didn't Ovie already (unofficially) win the Hart? I think Boo! earns the Smythe.
Boo!, ???? I'm confused. Malkin?

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 10:34 PM | Report abuse

Why was that 'bunt' not a high stick?

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 10:34 PM | Report abuse

JMU: No, not Shrek ... time to investigate!

When do I get my hardware?!?

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 10:36 PM | Report abuse

boo!,
you might be able to see the fans, but you sure can't hear 'em. Didn't see the bunt.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 10:36 PM | Report abuse

I'm confused. You didn't have anybody in mind? S.O.B.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 10:38 PM | Report abuse

I must admit, I like that they are keeping it interesting!!

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 10:38 PM | Report abuse

Yeah Malone knock out the stick no penalty. Ridiculous.

Posted by: mauree | June 4, 2008 10:39 PM | Report abuse

Pens score with 1:27 left. The game isn't over yet.

JMU, you're righr, the Conn Smythe Trophy is for the playoffs, Hart for regular season (along with Lester Pearson award).

Posted by: Joe B | June 4, 2008 10:39 PM | Report abuse

Come on Wings!!!! Please don't repeat Game 5.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 10:41 PM | Report abuse

i think it is a scruffy tyler kennedy sporting a playoff beard ... could it be?!?

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 10:41 PM | Report abuse

omg so close at the end

Posted by: mauree | June 4, 2008 10:43 PM | Report abuse

I bet the entire city of Detroit had a heart attack in that final second when Osgood bobbled the save!

Posted by: tess | June 4, 2008 10:44 PM | Report abuse

Yes!!!!!!!!!! That *was* close! Whew! I can stop cheering for the Wings now. What a relief. Poor Pens, they look so dejected.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 10:44 PM | Report abuse

Boo, JMU, tess: fun to meet with you again.

mauree, thanks for keeping us all company. It was so lonely Monday being the only male with all these wonderful hockey chicks. ;-)

JMU: I just got a cease and desist order for claiming to be your mother. So the truth is I am not your mother. I just wanted you to do your homework and study for your test.

Posted by: Joe B | June 4, 2008 10:45 PM | Report abuse

that was fun. i hate to say it would have been fun for the last shot to go in, but it would have been. i hope the CS goes to fleury.

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 10:46 PM | Report abuse

Joe B,
haha, its fine. My mom would be glad there's somebody else on my case. :D It was definitely fun! Can't wait for the regular season!

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 10:48 PM | Report abuse

JMU:
Remember when I said that Zetterberg was more likely to get it than Sidney?!? Pfew! :-)

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 10:49 PM | Report abuse

So now we wait for Caps hockey...rookie camp in July, free agent signings. It's been fun. Already looking forward to next season. See you in September...

Posted by: tess | June 4, 2008 10:50 PM | Report abuse

Seriously! I'm glad he won it. He's awesome. That first 5-3 kill was absolutely crucial.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 10:50 PM | Report abuse

Don't forget the awards on June 12th at 6PM.
A possible:
two more for Ovie, one for Backstrom, one for
Boudreau.

Posted by: Joe B | June 4, 2008 10:53 PM | Report abuse

Surprised that Chelios got the cup so soon ... and that he is dressed! Why wasen't it passed to Zetterberg and Osgood sooner?!?

RE: the CS, I thought Zetterberg was most likely, but still think Fleury really deserved it. He kept his team in it.

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 10:54 PM | Report abuse

joe B, definitely will be watching. Will they start on time this year?
Boo!, I was surprised about Chelios too. I think he just had skates and a jersey on though. I didn't see any other equipment. Flower definitely kept them in, but I just cringe at the thought of a Pen winning anything at this point.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 10:56 PM | Report abuse

Joe:
Are you going to be here or at the phone booth on the 12th?

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 10:57 PM | Report abuse

I'll be here. I'm a little too far from VC.
I'll only be able to attend online meetings or the girls club. I did have full season tickets to the Capitals miserable first season and a few other times, as well as partial plans.

I have watched every Capitals game this year and many playoff games, including all of the finals.

See you all next season, maybe sooner if Tarik has a new thread tomorrow.

When do I get my membership card?

JMU: two more initials of my last name, A and R. Are we still possibly related?

Posted by: Joe B | June 4, 2008 11:05 PM | Report abuse

Joe B,
I vote that you're allowed in the girls' club as an honorary member. I'll be here for most of the season. A tank of gas to DC & back and a ticket is more than a broke student can afford. I'll be on all summer too, since I have to distract myself from all the work I have to do for classes and help with hockey withdrawal now that the season is...over. :\
A & R, nope. sorry, that would have been cool though. My mom's family decidedly leans towards French-Canadian.

Speaking of, I watched "The Rocket" yesterday and Wow. That's a pretty great movie. Only in French w/subtitles though. That English dubbing is awful.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 11:17 PM | Report abuse

Joe/JMU - you need to make a Pilgrimage one of these days ...

Anyone going on the 12th?

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 11:24 PM | Report abuse

Yes, JoeB, you're definitely in the club. I'll check in from time to time over the summer if anything exciting happens. Hope the next news we hear is signing Greenie and Huet and Fedorov and Laich, etc. And I won't miss the awards show next week. I've got it circled on the calendar.

Posted by: tess | June 4, 2008 11:27 PM | Report abuse

Oh, yes Joe - I forgot to say - you are in the club! :-) And mauree is in the club for outing me!! ;-) Speaking of, mauree - you need to make the pilgrimage, as well (just tell your girlfiend that you want to take her to DC to go shoe shopping!).

Posted by: Boo! | June 4, 2008 11:31 PM | Report abuse

Boo!,
I'll be there some games, it just won't be very often. I made it to 2 games last season; I hope to increase that number this season. It will entirely depend on how my class schedule works out, how much money I have, and whether or not the Caps do student rush nights again. I'll make it eventually. I'm making a pilgrimage to Kettler for development camp at some point during that week.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 11:35 PM | Report abuse

Congrats Wings.

I wonder if Fleury's butt will get voted onto the cup for scoring the game winning goal.

I am 90% sure I am going to the VC for the awards day party. If any of you see me (I should be easy to spot) be sure to say hello.

Posted by: Sombrero Guy | June 4, 2008 11:36 PM | Report abuse

Sombrero,
I think they should petition for it.
Nick Lidstrom
Henrik Zetterberg
Chris Osgood
Marc-Andre Fleury's Behind
Tomas Holmstrom
Johan Franzen

They can just sneak it in, nobody would notice. :D

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 4, 2008 11:43 PM | Report abuse

storm blackout, connection lost hehe

Anyway congrats to Detroit. Kudos to the fans for not booing too much and staying in the arena for the Cup and the celebrations.

@jmu
go study now - or get a good sleep at least!

@Boo!
No excuses this year, we'll come up for some game :D

Nite all :D

Posted by: mauree | June 5, 2008 12:07 AM | Report abuse

studying! then maybe playing some mud football before bed.

Posted by: jmu_capsgirl | June 5, 2008 12:11 AM | Report abuse

@mauree: They sure booed Bettman though. I heard some boos trickle with the Zetterberg MVP announcement.

Good finish to a good series. I would've preferred Detroit won it at home in game 7, but this is better than seeing the cup in the hands of Sid or Malkin. NBC would never stop talking about it next season (and they still probably won't).

See you all in September, and possibly at Kettler for some of rookie development camp. I'm missing the 12th for a relative's high school graduation :-(

Posted by: Raber | June 5, 2008 12:29 AM | Report abuse

Is it me or is the best part of NBC's covereage that you can't actually hear them most of the time due to the crowd noise?

Posted by: TheCapitalist | June 5, 2008 6:21 AM | Report abuse

Well, after the fact, but the cup won't be in Steeltown! Thank God. Great job Wings!

Posted by: JC | June 5, 2008 6:57 AM | Report abuse

@Raber

Booing Bettman is ok hehe :D

Posted by: mauree | June 5, 2008 8:05 AM | Report abuse

Let's go Caps! (get everyone signed and draft well). Can't wait for the fall to get here.

Posted by: Steve R | June 5, 2008 8:24 AM | Report abuse

Next major pieces of business: get Green and Huet signed.

Posted by: Joe B | June 5, 2008 9:28 AM | Report abuse

I saw somewhere that the DC area had pretty high TV ratings for the finals... Could it be a little taste of what's to come has awakened a sleeping giant?

Posted by: TheCapitalist | June 5, 2008 9:52 AM | Report abuse

Mike Green - 4 year 16 mil
Huet - 3 year 13 mil

Lock it up GMGM

Posted by: LOCK IT UP | June 5, 2008 10:02 AM | Report abuse

I wish Bettman had grabbed the mic and said...

"Your booing me? Really? If it wasnt for me you would be watching minor league hockey, and this crappy igloo would be a dumpy strip mall. Nick Lindstrom..come get the cup and shut these white trash pie holes up."

You Love PITT!!!

Posted by: Anonymous | June 5, 2008 10:04 AM | Report abuse

Anybody have an HD Tivo or DVD of the game and celebration? Missed the end of the season and Stanley Cup presentation (which is really more of a religious event than sport) thanks to my 19 hours and counting of no power.

Let the signings begin!!!!

Posted by: Nils | June 5, 2008 10:21 AM | Report abuse

"Big signing, commence"

I hate waiting for 2 teams I can't stand to finish playing before we can do our own business.

Posted by: NFeKPo | June 5, 2008 1:03 PM | Report abuse

Everybody relax. There's a few UFAs on the Wings that I wouldn't mind if the Caps got their paws on.

Posted by: old time hockey | June 5, 2008 1:11 PM | Report abuse

GMGM likes a bargain and any current cup vet will be the beneficiary of "auction fever"

Posted by: TheCapitalist | June 5, 2008 1:35 PM | Report abuse

Tarik - Any word on whether the Oskar Osala signing is a done deal? Are they just waiting on the physical or for the contract to be ratified?
