Swedish Website: Backstrom, Caps Close to Deal
According to this report (it's in Swedish), the Caps and 2006 first round draft pick Nicklas Backstrom have agreed to terms on an entry level contract. The paperwork, however, has not been signed.
I have no idea how credible this website is, but since it's out there, I figured I'd pass it along.
The Caps have nothing to announce, I'm told.
I'll try to get this confirmed, of course.

Sounds promising. The first step in hopefully a productive offseason for the team. And I stress hopefully.

Backstrom's signing has pretty much always been a foregone conclusion though it is always nice to have it finalized.
